Liechtenstein

Microstate of souvenir patch.

The principality of Liechtenstein is allocated in Central Europe bordered with Switzerland and Austria but not belong to the European Union. with only 162 square kilometres is the second richest country in the world based on financial economy -lowest tax ration - and destination of winter sport thanks to mountains.
I was in Vaduz 20 years ago, during some hours, coming back from Vienna to Madrid.
As scutelliphillist, even if I stay during short time I try to get the Souvenir Patch for my collection.
I show you some souvenir patches from this tiny and beautiful country.

Liechtenstein. Coat of arms

The coat of arms represent the armorial bearings of Prince of Liechtenstein, showing the different regions and families involve in Liechtenstein by conquest or marriage,...as others.
Here you are wonderful Liechtenstein coat of arms patch, manufactured in fine colorful lurex with red felt back sew on. Probably dated mid-end of 70´s. I have not clear idea about manufacturer.
Not so difficult to find if you are interested in

Right side  you can observe typical flower and two mountains icons patch named " Fürstentum Liechtenstein " or principality of Liechtenstein in German, This patch was manufactured in Austria, probably end of 60´s to mid 70´s by Multi Marking ( not 100% sure). You will check in coming post vintage souvenir patches  with same picture and icons.

Vaduz

Vaduz is the capital of Liechtenstein, with no more than 5.000 habitants. one of most interesting places to see at hilltop of Vaduz in the Castle, currently official residence of Prince of Liechtenstein. The castle is not public open but you can see from any place of the city

You can observe rare colorful souvenir patch for Vaduz Castle or "Schloss Vaduz" in german. Its highlighted the mix of detailed colors to reinforce the blue sky and  mountains landscape and intensive use of gold lurex in the core of the souvenir patch, the castle and coat of arms.
Not clear for me the period but comparing with other german patches I would say 1974- 1979.
Please if you have clear info let me know
As other souvenir patches, the use of lurex is really factor to highlight this Vaduz souvenir patch, intensive in gold and silver lurex. Here you can see this colorful souvenir patch dated mid-end 70´s. Not really rare for finding it.
